Fall Symposium

Each fall, the WGCC organizes a symposium for the Women's Guild members throughout the Eastern Diocese. The weekend of fellowship, culture, education, and relaxation—which usually convenes in a metropolitan center or at the Ararat Center, the Diocesan retreat facility in upstate New York-is an opportunity for sister guilds to share ideas and experiences on a Diocesan level.

Saintly Women's Day

The annual "Saintly Women's Day"—commemorating women saints and confessors of the Armenian Church—takes place throughout the Eastern Diocese under the auspices of the WGCC. The day—usually observed on a Saturday during Great Lent—is observed by local parish guilds through liturgy, prayers, and readings about the inspirational life of a designated saintly figure: an exemplary woman from Armenian history, Christian tradition, or the Bible. The occasion is also a time to remember and honor exemplars of saintliness among Armenian women of more recent generations. Click here to download the Saintly Women's Day Order of Worship document.

Women's Guild Assembly

Each spring, representatives of Women's Guilds from throughout the Eastern Diocese gather for the Women's Guild Assembly. (The gathering runs concurrently with the annual Diocesan Assembly.) Each parish guild is invited to send at least three delegates to the Women's Guild Assembly, which typically includes business sessions, fellowship activities, roundtable discussions, and educational lectures.

Future Activities

The WGCC is always considering new activities for its members. Plans under consideration for the future include regional and local-parish retreats, pilgrimages to Armenia and the Holy Land, and workshops on guild formation and enrichment.
